In the summer of 2017, two of the world’s biggest stars came together to promote a bout between two of combat sports’ biggest names — Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.
On an absolutely sweltering day at City of Angels Boxing in East LA, Diddy and Wahlberg arrived and requested a last-minute rewrite that I was happy to oblige… paying homage to the tongue-in-cheek face-off at the end of Rocky 3.
The promo went on to premiere on People alongside BTS stills, and aired on Showtime in the moments leading up to the fight. I feel lucky to have been a small part of a massive moment at the intersection of sports and pop culture.
