In my work as a filmmaker, I strive to be earnest, empathetic, and nonjudgmental.
I balance a journalistic approach with meticulously-planned visuals, using story as an entry-point, then pulling from a variety of aesthetics — from advertising and fine art to movies and music videos — to create a bespoke visual language. My writing continues to steer the creative in the development of scripts, storyboards, and taglines.
Preserving the integrity of my subjects is essential, and while I do inject my point-of-view, I prioritize authenticity. I am especially drawn to projects in which it is someone’s first appearance on camera. In the end, I want them to be able to point back to our collaboration and say, “This is me, and I’m proud of it.”
